Work Planner-Austin Texas

Work Planner for Asplundh Tree Experts LLC, contracting for Austin Energy to generate work plans to clear electric facilities.

We are currently seeking a Work Planner to join our team.

Essential Functions

-Obtains oral or written permission from property owners to trim or remove trees and apply herbicides.  Discusses issues such as obtaining access, power interruption, work to be done, etc., with customer or property owner.

-Discusses responsibility for apparent damage to property, repairs for minor damage, and refers controversial cases to the General Foreperson.

-Travels from Job site to job site frequently as necessary.

-Works in all temperatures and weather and will be exposed to nature, i.e., irritating plants and biting or stinging insects, dust, etc.

-May work around excessive noise from machines, chain saws, wood chippers and other equipment with hearing protection -May work on unlevel terrain -May be exposed to dogs and other animals -Attendance requirements are Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day.

Minimum Requirements

-Must have a minimum of 12 months of line clearance work experience.

-Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time -Must be able to wear necessary PPE as necessary.

-Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.

-Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.

-Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.

-Must be able to traverse various terrains.

-Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.

-Must be able to communicate and handle confrontations professionally.

-Must have transportation to and from the startup location.

-Must be able to pass a background check.

-Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

-Position requires employee to work at least two (2) Saturdays per month in a 40-hour week.

-Must be able to understand the contract with Customer and adhere to it.

-Effective written and oral communication skills.

-Basic knowledge and identification of flora and fauna indigenous to the area.

-Skill in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with Customer’s personnel, the Company’s personnel and the public.

-Strong knowledge of and ability to interpret engineering drawings and maps and utilize the information to increase personal and crew efficiency -Strong negotiating skills.

-Good conflict resolution skills.

-Skills in planning and completing projects within the required time frame.

-Obtain Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) licensure with 6 months of employment date.
