(the day before and a separate event from the Texas Tree Conference)

Completing The Cycle – Making Money From Waste

10:00 to 5:00
(Registration opens 9:00 am)
(6 CEUs)

Presented by your expert team:

Daniel Torres, Deadwood Revival Design, Paso Robles, California
Scott Anderson, Urban Tree Company, San Antonio, Texas
Devin Ginther, Texas Urban Sawmill, Dripping Springs, Texas
Kari Divine, Urban Wood Network, Crystal Falls, Michigan

Arboriculture and urban forestry are changing and it’s time to embrace the full cycle management of trees. Join the Urban Wood Network as we explore how to maximize the use of trees once they’ve met the end of their living, standing life. From mulch, compost, and firewood to biochar, furniture, and art there are many ways to utilize this wonderful resource and create a more sustainable urban forest. For the practicing arborist, learn how you can make additional money with “waste”. For the urban forester, learn how you can help your community meet its zero waste goals and receive the SFI Sustainable Urban Forest certification. Learn harvesting techniques to maximize value and build networks to increase wood utilization.
