Texas Arbor Day 2021

The City of Weatherford, Texas is hosting this year’s Texas Arbor Day celebration! Please mark your calendar for Nov. 5, 2021 and plan to celebrate with family, friends and community either in person or online as we celebrate virtually around the state – to Turn Over a New Leaf!

For those interested in attending the State Arbor Day Celebration in Weatherford in person – here is what you need to know:

WHO:  Hosted by Texas A&M Forest Service, Texas Forestry Association, International Society of Arboriculture Texas Chapter, City of Weatherford and sponsored by Parker County Master Gardeners.

WHAT:  The Texas State Arbor Day Celebration is being held in the City of Weatherford, and Live Streaming celebrations from across the state.

This Arbor Day, as we emerge from a year like no other, we encourage all Texas communities to celebrate trees and to Turn Over a New Leaf.  The theme highlights making a fresh start in life by planting a tree.

Plant trees in your yard, at your school or place of business. Explore the community on a neighborhood walk among the trees. These new Texas Arbor Day activities can bring you closer to the people around you, as well as positively affect human health and create happier, healthier communities.

This year marks the 30th year of the City of Weatherford being a Tree City, USA. Weatherford was selected as this year’s host city for the State’s Arbor Day celebration for their excellence in community forestry.

 WHEN:   Friday, Nov. 5, 2021
9:30 a.m.         Live streaming of statewide programming begins

10 a.m.            Official program at Host City of Weatherford begins, followed by a ceremonial tree planting

*Live streaming of educational activities and celebrations across the state
