Garland Texas Tree Planting
November 13, 2021 @ 11:30 am - 8:00 pm
Garland RETREET — part of the North Texas TREEcovery Campaign — will take place on Saturday, November 13th. Volunteers will meet at Granger Recreation Center in Garland (1310 W Avenue F) and be sent to home sites to plant trees for families in recovery from the October 2019 tornados. A free celebratory dinner will follow the planting from 6pm-9pm.
The day will begin at 11:30am with check-in and introductions at Granger Recreation Center (1310 W Avenue F, Garland, TX 75040). Volunteers will be taught proper tree planting techniques, then arranged into small groups that will be sent to home sites throughout the adjacent neighborhoods to replant native trees for residents rebuilding in the wake of the tornado. A free celebratory dinner will immediately follow the planting, with live music, food, and drinks. Volunteers are welcome and encouraged to attend, as are the families for whom trees will be planted. It will be a day, and night, to remember!
PLANTING TREES IS STRENUOUS WORK AND NOT ACCESSIBLE TO VOLUNTEERS UNDER 16
