City of Dallas Arborist School

The City of Dallas Arborist School provides training for individuals who work with trees daily or those who are working towards an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certification. The classes will be held on the third Thursday of each month, April – September 2024, from 8 a.m. to noon in the Stormwater Operations Building’s Training Room located at 2245 Irving Blvd., Dallas, TX 75207.
Topics will include botany, plant physiology, identification, insects and disease, maintenance, assessment and many additional issues. You may enroll for the following:
• CEU points available for Certified Arborists
• Tree Basics (open classes, six available)
The deadline to register is April 18, 2024.

Seating and parking are limited; carpooling is encouraged.

May 16 Insects/Disease and Tree Assessment
June 20 Soil and Water Relations; Fertilizer and Nutrients
July 18 Proper Planting, Pruning and Maintenance
August 15 Safety and Ground Operations
September 19 Urban Forestry; Construction Laws and Standards

Tree Basics – for those individuals who need to refresh their tree knowledge, need basic knowledge for
