Program Manager – Texas Chapter ISA

Program Manager

Monthly: $2,800 – $3,000 depending on experience

Job Type: Part-time average 25 hours/week – Independent Contractor

Acorn Arbor Services, LP as the association management services contractor to the Texas Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISAT), is seeking a Program Manager to provide event and membership services for the Texas Chapter ISA. This position will be a key member of the ISAT leadership team.

The Texas Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISAT) is a professional organization dedicated to continuing education for arborists, to tree care research, and to serving tree care consumers in Texas. It is a 501c5 non-profit Texas corporation with 1,200 members and it is an affiliate of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Each year, ISAT provides Texas arborists with an annual Texas Tree Conference, a Texas Tree Climbing Championship and numerous educational workshops and webinars. The ISAT vision is that Texas communities are enhanced when trees and urban forest resources are cared for and managed by qualified professionals using best practices.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Event Support

  • Support the Assistant Director with event planning, contracts, registrations, accounting, and surveys including the Annual Texas Tree Conference, the Texas Tree Climbing Championship and other educational and member events
  • Work with the ISA Credentialing Department and the ISAT Credentialing Chair to manage testing and Continuing Education Credits for all events including webinars
  • Facilitate Board and committee meetings and support educational events by developing and maintaining proficiency with cloud-based service programs including Word Press for web content, Constant Contact for event registration, email, and surveys, RegFox for event registration, GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar as online meeting tools, ProProf for online quizzes, Facebook, and Twitter for social media, and Volunteersignup.com for volunteer registration
  • Process event income and expenses and prepare reports in QuickBooks

Membership and Certification Support

  • Manage the day-to-day member and certification services including responding to member and certificant inquiries for information
  • Identify and implement strategies to retain, increase and involve members and certificants
  • Assist with communication links to members by providing content for the In the Shade newsletter, TreEmail email newsletter, social media and the web site
  • Support the Membership, Certification, and Outreach Chairs including providing needed background information and assisting with their regular conference calls
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships to increase networking opportunities for members and allied professionals including coordinating online meetings
  • Provide reporting on member and certificant statistics as requested
  • Maintain an ISAT Chapter message center to include a cell phone number with an exclusive ISAT voicemail message, voice mail, internet, and ISAT e-mail

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and relationships with numerous members, certificants, Board members and vendors.
  • BA/BS preferred but not required; equivalent work experience considered
  • At least four years of experience as a program/operations manager, event specialist and/or member services manager; or equivalent work experience considered
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate with members, credential holders and vendors – both written and verbally
  • Strong customer service orientation and demonstration of initiative
  • Experience with event planning, program implementation, logistics and communications
  • Must be able to work as an independent contractor on a flexible schedule from a home office
  • Demonstrated experience managing accounts in Quick Books and maintaining financial records
  • Experience working with or in a member-based non-profit organization
  • Strong skills Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Word Press, social media platforms, and other online platforms
  • Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision, to work effectively under pressure, make difficult decisions and follow through on agreed upon initiatives
  • Able to travel occasionally for events and meetings in Texas
  • A passion for the ISAT mission
  • An entrepreneurial mindset; able to identify and pursue opportunities
  • Proficient in proofreading and knowledgeable on business correspondence
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred
