Environmental Review Specialist Senior – Austin
The City of Austin, Development Services Department (DSD) is seeking a qualified arborist and/or landscape architect to work for the City Arborist Program in the Development Services Department. The City Arborist implements the City of Austin urban forest preservation and replenishment regulations. The Environmental Review Specialist Sr. duties may include reviewing residential, site plan, and/or municipal development projects for compliance with the City of Austin’s urban forest preservation and replenishment regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Environmental Science, Life Science, Natural Science or related field, plus four (4) years of relevant experience.
Master’s degree may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
ISA Certified Arborist:
Experience in Landscape Architecture.
Knowledge of City of Austin Land Development Code related to tree regulations.
Ability to comprehend construction drawings for residential and commercial development projects.
Experience in customer service and dispute resolution.
Ability to travel to more than one work location.
