This course covers the applications of tree and landscape brush chippers and stump cutters, emphasizing job safety analysis, emergency planning, and PPE. Participants will learn about the start-up, shut-down, and ergonomic practices for equipment operation. The course also includes the selection, design, and safety features of heavy equipment, as well as pre-work inspection and maintenance procedures. Additionally, learners will gain hands-on experience with brush chipper and stump cutter operations and understand the best practices for trailering and transport.

Certified arborists will earn 6.5 CEUs upon completion of this course. All attendees will receive an electronic certificate of completion. This course meets the ANSI/ASSE Z490.1 Criteria for Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training as well as OSHA 1910.269 and ANSI Z133.
