Historic Texas Trees

February 14, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Historical Texas Trees
Wednesday, February 14
Historical Texas trees form a vital link to unique moments in Texas history, such as the Battle of the Alamo and the Great
Storm of 1900. Laura Carlton, a Harris County Precinct 4 arborist, will give a presentation that outlines Mercer’s Historic and
Champion Tree Project. Following the presentation, John Ross, an ISA certifed arborist, will give an interactive, walking tour
through the West Side Arboretum to teach basic tree identification.

Bring lunch and enjoy a different gardening topic each month during these presentations. Lunch Bunch is recommended for ages 12+. Call Mercer Botanic Gardens at 713-274-4160 to make a reservation or receive more information. Please note: Location temporarily moved to the West Side Arboretum in the Cypress Pavilion. As this is an open air venue, please dress accordingly.
