What’s killing my tree? Bugs? Disease? Join Dr. David Appel and Sheila McBride for a hands-on tree diagnosis workshop at the Texas A&M Plant Disease Diagnostic Lab. This two-day workshop includes the fine points of field diagnosis, sample collecting and expert instruction in the lab on using diagnostic tools and techniques.

Dr. Appel is a professor in the Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology (PLPM) at Texas A&M University. Since coming to Texas A&M in 1981, his research program has focused on the epidemiology, diagnosis, and control of forest and shade trees, with an emphasis on the devastating oak wilt epidemic in central Texas.
Ms. McBride is the diagnostician (Extension Program Specialist) at the Texas Plant Disease Diagnostic Lab. She has over 20 years of experience working at the Department of Plant Pathology & Microbiology at Texas A&M University, and is well-verse with nematodes, fungi and bacteria.
