Advanced Trauma Response for Tree Workers – Beyond Basic First Aid & Aerial Rescue – Dallas

July 26, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Workshop highlights:

Serious injuries happen in our industry – injuries that require more than basic first aid treatment and more supplies than are in a typical first aid kit.

For example, how would a rescuer deal with a chainsaw wound before EMS arrives at the scene? If the victim has a severed artery, the bleed out factor (which can be a matter of minutes) must be dealt with before EMS arrives. What if the climber experiences a severe cut or puncture and needs to stop his bleeding even before the aerial rescuer gets to him?

Jeff Thierbach is an experienced tree worker, as well as a former US Navy Search and Rescue Swimmer, Helicopter Rescue, and Survivalist/Special Operations. He has used his rescue and survivalist experiences along with further research to address his concerns about providing needed trauma response training to tree workers, and has developed this workshop to offer that training. The workshop will include aerial rescue and ground operations accident scenarios based on serious trauma that cannot be treated with an average first aid kit.

Requirements: Aerial rescue training; first aid/CPR training.
