Defend Texas Tree Ordinances – Petition Now Online
Special Session Tree Legislation
No more tree protection in cities?
The rapid growth of Texas cities has led to the citizens in dozens of fast growing cities passing ordinances that protect trees. Gov. Abbott recently vetoed the broadly supported SB 744 tree mitigation bill supported by both houses of the state legislature, the development community and municipal interests charged with protecting the urban forest.
He has called for the abolishment of municipal tree protection ordinances across the state as one of the twenty special session agenda items. The Special Session starts July 18th.
