    Tree Loving Care is West Texas oldest and most respected arboricultural services company and has several positions available Location manager-Manager`needed an to manage the Midland office. Ideal candidate will have skills in all areas of arboriculture and, if not Certified Arborist, will be able to become certified within 6 months of employment. Candidate will manage work flow, hire and train new employees, coordinate with home office on all office functions, do some sales as will as work with crews on occasion.

    Compensation will be salary plus bonuses. Other benefits include one week paid vacation after one year, company participation in retirement account and health insurance and continuing education.

    Climbers, ground men and Plant Health Care Technician-Midland and Lubbock office both need experienced and beginner climbers and ground men and experienced Plant Health Care Technicians. Hourly employees are paid an hourly rate from $10-15 plus skill modifiers that can increase pay up to $4 per hour plus an hour and may receive performance bonuses that can increase pay up to $2 per hour. Benefits include paid vacation, company participation in retirement and healthcare.

    Urban Forest Specialist – Temp/Hourly

    The Urban Forest Specialist will assist the Austin ISD Arborist with the District’s Urban Tree Inventory using Arbor Pro GIS software. This process involves visiting Austin ISD schools and facilities, accurately identifying the tree species on site, mapping their location, photographing them, and indicating the health status and maintenance needs of each tree. This inventory will: 1. identify tree care needs, 2. prioritize hazard tree risk mitigation, 3. assist in planning for schoolyard and construction projects, 4. identify tree-deficient schools for future plantings, 5. enable the District to strategically plan for long-term urban forest tree care and hazard prevention. This inventory will also be shared with the City of Austin. In addition to conducting the tree inventory, the specialist will assist in the following tasks: 1. conduct tree care site assessments before and after tree care work is performed by the contracted service provider, 2. coordinate and attend tree plantings and landscape related events at schools, and 3. assist in outreach with relevant stakeholders at the school and community levels, and 4. Perform occasional minor pruning at ground level. The position is funded through the City of Austin Urban Forest Grant and is part-time for one year (approximately 19.50 hours/week, may vary depending on nature of activities from week to week).

    Work Planner

    Wright Tree Service is currently seeking a Work Planner to start in the Austin, TX area on a full-time basis. Wright Tree Service provides vegetation management, storm restoration, and work planning services to utility companies and their communities across the country.

    Essential Functions:

    ◦Obtains oral or written permission/notification from property owner, municipal, business to trim, remove or apply herbicide to trees. Secures appropriate permits when necessary. Arranges with customer or property owner to obtain access and advises of any interruption if applicable. Explains work to be done and sets timelines.

    ◦Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of all records and reports related to permission/notification from customer/home owner to General Foreman and crew personnel.

    ◦Plans and lays out work for crew members. Considers factors such as the ability to get power equipment to locations, time required to complete work, clean-up time, equipment available, weather conditions and special instructions by customers/homeowners.

    ◦Has an understanding and follow all applicable work methods pertaining to line clearance work.

    ◦Inspects right of ways to assess vegetation conditions and determine required maintenance.

    ◦Responds to questions and concerns regarding work specifications and requirements.

    ◦Inspects work completed by crew/contractors for compliance and utility specifications.

    ◦Assists in the management of crew/contractors during storm restoration operations.

    ◦Provides support and assistance on special projects as assigned by the utility.

    ◦May work on rough terrain due to nature of responsibilities.

    ◦Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

    Minimum Requirements:

    ◦Minimum of 3 years’ experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews and/or has successfully completed applicable performance reviews.

    ◦Must be able to achieve ISA Certified Arborist & ISA Utility Specialist within 1 year of employment.

    ◦Texas Dept of Agriculture Commercial Pesticide Applicatory License (Category 5) preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.

    ◦Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

    ◦Possess excellent leadership skills and be able to handle stressful situations along with being able to multi-task.

    ◦Basic knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits and correct arboricultural techniques for the trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining and removing, as applies to working in close proximity to energized conductors.

    ◦Knowledge and understanding of the American National Standards for Tree Care Operations (ANSI Z133.1-2000).

    ◦Basic knowledge of electrical circuit and must be skilled in the reading and understanding of circuit maps.

    ◦Ability to communicate professionally, both verbal and in writing, with the general public, customers, and fellow employees.

    ◦Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

    ◦Ability to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times per day.

    ◦Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work tasks such as rain, heat, sun, cold, snow.

    ◦Ability to communicate with others and represent Wright Tree Service in a professional manner.
