Every year, ISAT provides scholarships to
the Forestry Departments of Stephen F. Austin State
University and Texas A&M University. These grants assist

Rachel McGregor
2007-2010 |
I would like to express many
thanks to you for allowing me to receive this gift and
finish my last year at Texas A&M University. Your
contribution to my education in the past and now has
helped me strive to be the young woman I am today. I
still plan to graduate in 2010 with my major in Urban
Forestry and continue on to get my masters in Tree
Pathology. Again, thank you so much for helping support
me as I continue my education. Sincerely, Rachel
McGregor
I want to start off by
thanking you so much for the opportunity to further my
education in this field you have made it more of a
possibility with your support. My name is Rachel
McGregor and I am a junior at Texas A&M. I am from a
small town about 45 minutes west of Ft. Worth called
Springtown. I was pretty much raised up outside on a
farm so I have always had a passion for nature. I am
majoring in Urban Forestry and plan to get my masters in
tree pathology. I am very excited to announce that next
summer I will be doing an internship for Bartlett Tree
Company in England and hopefully get some hands on
experience to expand my education in the field. Again, I
want to thank you so much for your help. |

Jeff King
2006-2007 |
I would like to express a very
appreciative and heartfelt thank you for your generous
gift. I consider myself very lucky to be a recipient of
a scholarship from the International Society of
Arboriculture - Texas Chapter. This scholarship is so
very important to me because it has enabled me the
chance to focus more on school without the distraction
of my part time job.
Currently, I am a senior at Texas
A&M with one more spring semester left. I never
imagined coming to school here to learn how to be an
Arborist considering the word was not in my vocabulary
until my second year at A&M. My goal when I graduate is
to become an ISA Certified Arborist while work for a
public/commercial tree agency.
Sincerely, Jeff King |

Matthew Skillern,
2009 |
I
want to personally thank you for providing me with a
scholarship for this semester; it shows that you
have put trust in me and my dedication in college.
To let you know a little more about me, I am an
urban forestry senior from Tyler, Texas; expected to
graduate in Fall of 2009. I started college in 2004
at Tyler Junior College as a mechanical engineer,
but switched to general studies due to difficulties
I was having with certain classes. In 2006, after
receiving an Associate in Science, I decided to go
to SFA to study forestry, and later on to major in
Urban Forestry. As of now I am leaving my options
open on what type of forestry career I will pursue
after I graduate; I am willing to work with either
for the state, municipalities, or for arboriculture
companies. Again I want to thank you for providing
me with this scholarship. |
